BRICS-TCA Online Seminar on Cooperation in the Field of Technical Vocational Education and Training was organized in the hybrid format – online on the Vinteo platform and offline in the “Safmar Grand Moscow” hotel on the 29th of May 2024.
The event aimed at attracting new members to the BRICS TVET Alliance and the familiarizing the new members with the activities of the Alliance and with the development of TVET in countries that earlier became members of the Alliance, as well as at shaping vision for the future.
The event was attended (registered) by: more than 140 participants: 15 in-person representatives, 8 - online (there were group and individual connections); 8 connections from Brazil, 48 from China, 7 from South Africa, 20 connections from education organizations from Russia. Representatives from the Embassies of the BRICS countries in Moscow were participated in the face-to-face format, including Ms. Maitha Al Saleh - Economic Affairs Specialist, Ms. Yulia Latysheva - Economic Researcher of the UAE Embassy in Moscow.
Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Elsergany - Director of the Cultural Bureau, Embassy of Egypt in Moscow and Mr. Sun Mingchun, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education of China participated in the seminar in the online format.
The speakers from the Russian Federation were Mr. Denis Gribov - Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Mr. Usman Rassukhanov - Director of International Cooperation and Public Relations Department, Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Mr.Viktor Neumyvakin - Head of State Policy in the Field of Secondary Vocational Education and Training Department, Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergei Kozhevnikov - Rector, Federal Institute for the Development of Vocational Education and Training (FIDVET), Ms. Svetlana Naumova - Vice-Rector of the Federal Institute for the Development of Vocational Education and Training (FIDVET). The seminar was moderated by Ms. Marina Nevskaya – the head of international Cooperation in the field of TVET Unit of the Federal Institute for VET Development.
Presentations were made by officials from the BRICS-TCA Secretariat (CEAIE) and by representatives from Chinese and South African Colleges:
Dr. Liu Limin, President of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) made a welcoming address in Russian.
Ms. An Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, BRICS-TCA Secretariat presented an overview of BRICS-TCA history, its activities, introduced members of the Alliance and proposed current and prospective activities.
Mrs. Hu Dianyu - Vice President of Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College (China) gave an overview of China's TVET system, achievements and development prospects.
Mr. Tshepo Ngcobo – Principal of Western TVET College and SAPCO (South Africa), member of the Association of Public Colleges of South Africa shared information on current development issues, challenges, achievements and potential of South African colleges, their importance for the labor market, stressing the needs to improve conditions for ensuring effective teaching and learning and to modernize teaching methods.
Ms. Zhao Ye, Deputy Director of Department of TVET and Professional Training, (CEAIE) answered questions about the role of TVET Alliance for Chinese vocational education.
The seminar was organized by the BRICS-TCA Secretariate and Federal Institute for VET Development with technical support by Roscongress (Russian Federation).
