On-line BRICS-TCA Seminar “New occupations evolution: from idea to students’ graduation” took place in Veliky Novgorod city (Russia) within the High Technologies Championship on the territory of the Innovative Scientific and Technological Center “Intellectual Electronics - Valdai”.
The event was moderated by Ms. Marina Nevskaya – Head of International Cooperation Unit of the Federal Institute for the Development of Vocational Education and Training and was devoted to the discussion of rapidly changing labor market demands and the division of responsibilities between business and the education system.
The session was opened by Ms. Svetlana Naumova –Vice Rector of the Federal Institute for the Development of Vocational Education and Training who spoke about the importance of the new technological mode for the development of the BRICS economics.
Mr. Valery Golubovsky, Rector of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education of the Republic of Belarus shared his experience of reducing the path from determining the labor market requirements to obtaining the first results in the form of graduates equipped with the required competences;
In his presentation Professor Santosh Mehrotra from the Center for Socio-Economic Research in India noted the possibility of private financing as one of the options for TVET development;
Dr. Ammanuel Garza, Mr. Amanuel Garza Director: TVET Management and Governance Support, TVET Branch, South Africa, shared his country’s experience of skills anticipation and labour market forecasts and of introducing modern technologies into the curriculum.
Overall, all of the above events once again reconfirmed that all countries are facing common challenges that may vary in scope and acuteness depending on the country context, hence cooperation, exchanges and mutual learning are acquiring an unprecedented importance and relevance and must enhance.
